The San Andreas Fault is a continental transform fault which runs a length of roughly 810 miles (1,300 km) through California in the United States. The fault's motion is right-lateral strike-slip (horizontal motion). The fault forms the tectonic boundary between the Pacific Plate and the North American Plate. A recent flurry of small earthquakes ranging from 2.5 magnitude to 3.4 over the last 24 hours shows agitation along the fault has increased. This is something we will continue to keep an eye on. -The Extinction Protocol
